6 Best Low EMF Portable Infrared Sauna

The benefits associated with spa treatments and saunas are the greatest when you use one regularly.

However, doing so can quickly become an expensive habit, especially if you do not live near a public sauna.

So, what can you do if you enjoy saunas and recognize their benefits, but do not want to spend thousands of dollars to get the experience?

The easiest solution is to buy your own, personal, portable sauna.

Portable saunas are becoming increasingly popular, with more and more new models becoming available.

I understand that it’s hard to make a choice; that’s what this guide is for.

In it I include six of, in my opinion, the best low EMF saunas that you can buy right now.

I’ll also tell you everything you need to know about portable saunas, and what to consider when buying one, so keep reading to find out more!

There are hundreds of low EMF far infrared saunas available on the market, but not all of them are equally good.

I’ve managed to bring that number down to just six, by thorough research and my extensive experience with these products.

In the reviews below, I’ll focus on the price tag, the features these devices offer, the amount of EMF radiation to which you’ll expose yourself when doing treatments, and a lot more.

Durherm Low EMF Negative Ion Portable Indoor Sauna

Durherm is the first portable sauna on my list, because it has an incredibly low reading of EMF radiation – almost nonexistent.

Compared to other infrared saunas on the market, this Durherm model appears expensive.

However, with that price tag comes a high-quality portable sauna designed to give you the ultimate in comfort and a safe EMR-free sauna treatment.

All of this already sounds great, but let’s take a closer look at the other features the Durherm indoor sauna offers.

Very low EMF Levels

Shop as much as you want, but you won’t be able to find another portable sauna that has a lower reading of EMF radiation.

Readings of emitted radiation show that EMF levels from this device are 200-600 units lower than those of any other portable sauna on the market, which is exactly what this company claims, as well.

We measure EMF radiation in milligauss, the maximum recommended level of which is 3 mG.

The Durherm low EMF infrared sauna tested much lower than that in all conditions, which means that it complies easily with all regulations.

Comfortable Size

The Durherm infrared sauna is somewhat large.

That’s good, because it means that even heavier people can comfortably fit inside.

The whole sauna weighs around 25 pounds, which is a bit on the substantial side, but the benefits outweigh the effort required to move it.

Due to its design, it is suitable for anyone who wants to use a sauna for detoxing and weight loss.

Tourmaline Panels

Tourmaline is a rare, semiprecious stone that has multiple benefits for our health.

It emits negative ions, which help our body retain its energy balance, and also has detoxifying and healing effects.

Tourmaline has been used successfully for these purposes for thousands of years, so its benefits are well-known.

Reasonable Price

If you only consider the price tag, your first impression will be that this is an expensive portable sauna.

Compared to other such products on the market, it does seem that way.

However, if you look at the bigger picture, you will realize that it is very affordable, considering what you get for the money.

Not only does it have the lowest EMF readings on the market, but it also contains tourmaline, produces negative ions, and offers additional accessories.

Useful Accessories

The two main accessories that come with the Durherm portable sauna are a handy foldable chair, and a heated far infrared footpad.

And there are two washable neck collars, which you can change out regularly.

Let’s sum up all of this information by listing some of the pros and cons of the Durherm portable sauna.

Pros:

  • Very low EMF readings
  • Comfortable large size
  • Remote-controlled
  • Easy setup
  • Contains tourmaline

Cons:

  • Heavier than other saunas
  • More expensive than other saunas

Radiant Saunas BSA6315 Portable Infrared Sauna

The Radiant Saunas BSA6315 was positioned at the second place on this list because it offers a great value for money.

It’s much cheaper than the Durherm portable sauna, but it has a slightly higher EMF emission value.

However, the company is continuing to take steps to reduce it further, and protect you from what is emitted, which we will discuss in more detail below.

Let’s take a closer look at what the device offers, and why it is a good deal.

Low EMF Radiation

Compared to many other infrared saunas in the same price range, the EMF radiation that Radiant Saunas emits is pretty low.

It achieves this through 3 low-EMF carbon panels that generate both heat and infrared light.

If you measure the EMF radiation, you will still get some readings, but they will not be alarmingly high.

Air Ionizer

The Radiant Saunas has an air ionizer that emits negative ions into the air around you, for a cleaner and fresher environment.

Added Accessories

Most far infrared saunas come with foldable chairs, but the Radiant Saunas offers the best one we’ve seen so far.

It’s comfortable and of high quality, so it will last you for a long time.

The chair is wide, so you can easily fit, even if you’re heavier and using this sauna to lose weight.

You will also receive a remote, with which you can control the timer and the heat with a touch of a finger.

Finally, a footpad which heats your feet with far infrared rays is also included.

Multiple Heat Settings

The Radiant Saunas BSA6315 can produce infrared temperatures of up to 150 degrees Fahrenheit.

However, you do not have to use it at the maximum temperature all the time.

You can choose one of the five heat settings that feel most comfortable for you.

Low Price

This device is pretty cheap, considering all of the features that you get if you buy it.

Of course, there are cheaper options available, but the quality decreases as the price does.

Ease of Use

To set up the Radiant Saunas and start using it, all you need is a single minute!

When you finish using it, you can pack it up small, and store it somewhere out of your way.

Great Customer Reviews

If you want to see what the people who bought this device think about it, check its reviews on Amazon.

There is plenty of positive feedback about the quick setup, the chair, the heat, and more.

This infrared sauna has both advantages and disadvantages.

Pros:

  • Low EMF Readings
  • Produces negative ions
  • Five heat settings
  • Low price
  • Comfortable chair

Cons:

  • Emits some EMF radiation
  • The chair weight limit is 180 pounds
  • Smallish

Conclusion

If you do not have the money to spend on the Durherm portable sauna, this is the second-best option.

It has probably the best money to value ratio, so you will not go wrong if you buy it.

Loozys Rejuvenator Portable Infrared Home Sauna Spa

The Loozys Rejuvenator infrared sauna is by far one of the most attractive ones on the market.

If looks matter to you, and if you plan to keep it up in your room most of the time, you should certainly consider it.

Its EMF readings are higher than those of the other portable saunas we’ve reviewed so far, but for its price, you can’t complain.

It’s worth taking a closer look, so let’s do just that!

Standard Accessories

The Loozys Rejuvenator offers all of the accessories necessary for a comfortable sauna treatment.

The chair is quite well-constructed, and easily fits heavier individuals.

Moreover, you will receive a heating pad to keep your feet warm, and you can adjust the heat and the time using a remote controller.

Therefore, you do not need to think about the duration of your treatment; you can just sit back and relax, and the device will turn off by itself when the time is up.

Comfort

The Loozys Rejuvenator cabin size is fairly large, so you will not feel confined when you’re using it.

Most online reviews mention positively this property of the device.

Setup

There are also many good reviews online that discuss the ease with which it is possible to set up this portable sauna.

Even if it is your first time doing so, and possibly even using one, you’ll probably be able to do it in a matter of seconds.

You can fold it up as quickly, as well, so it won’t take up too much room in your home.

Health Benefits

Even though Loozys Rejuvenator does not provide some of the fancy features many more expensive saunas do, it still offers all of the most important health benefits.

With this device, you can expect to get detoxification, improved circulation, relief from pains and aches, and overall relaxation.

Price

The Loozys Rejuvenator belongs to the lower part of the price range, when it comes to saunas.

It does offer, however, a decent value for money, as well.

The Loozys Rejuvenator’s advantages outweigh significantly its disadvantages.

Pros:

  • Has all the important features
  • All of the necessary accessories are included
  • Offers plenty of health benefits
  • Comes at an affordable price
  • Is a comfortable size

Cons:

  • Higher EMF readings than the other devices on the list
  • Might use somewhat more electricity

Conclusion

Loozys Rejuvenator is a device with a modern appearance that comes at an affordable price.

It has a dual zipper, which means it can be closed both from the outside and from the inside, so that you can get in and out easily.

This device is cheaper than average, and provides you with a lot of amazing health benefits.

The EMF value is a bit higher than it could be, but it still provides a fairly good reading.

Idealsauna Infrared FAR IR Negative Ion Portable Indoor Personal Sauna

The Idealsauna is truly ideal for the price.

It sacrifices none of the features and accessories, even though it is one of the cheapest devices on the market.

It’s a convenient and an elegant option that will both fit well inside your home and provide you with numerous health benefits.

Overall, it produces low EMF readings and has low energy consumption.

But let’s analyze it further, and talk about some more of its highlights.

Quite Low EMF

The first two devices on this list have set a strong standard for EMF radiation levels.

The Idealsauna does not fully meet them, but its EMF readings are still low enough to be deemed safe for regular use.

It boasts nice carbon fiber infrared panels, which maintain the EMF levels at around 10-13 mG.

This number is higher than what’s considered ideal (i.e. less than 3 mG), but it’s far from too high.

Handy Accessories

Don’t worry about the low cost of this device.

You will not lose any of the standard and important accessories.

The Idealsauna portable infrared sauna comes with a comfortable and wide chair, a foot heater, and a remote controller.

You can use this controller while inside the sauna to set up the duration and the intensity of your sauna session.

However, this duration can be only set to a maximum of 30 minutes, which is much less than what most people usually choose to do.

Heating Time

The Idealsauna takes around five minutes to heat up from zero to maximum intensity.

This is not bad, but it’s worse than many other devices both on the market and on this list.

However, when you consider the low price and its other advantages, it’s well worth it to wait for a couple of extra minutes.

Good Cabin Size

The cabin dimensions are 27.5 x 30 x 38 inches, which makes it mid-sized.

It’s not the largest you can get, but you can comfortably sit inside, even if you are a bigger person.

Low Price

The Idealsauna is neither the cheapest sauna you can get, nor the most expensive one.

However, if you plan to spend as little money as you can on a portable sauna, while still getting everything that you need for successful daily treatments, you won’t go wrong with this unit.

Does the Idealsauna have any disadvantages? Let’s take a look.

Pros:

  • Very reasonable price
  • Provides a chair, a remote, and a footpad
  • It’s comfortably-sized
  • It looks elegant
  • It has safe EMF readings

Cons:

  • The maximum duration of a session is 30 minutes
  • The heat-up time is 5 minutes

Conclusion

As you can see from this example, you do not need to spend a lot of money on an infrared sauna to get all of the health benefits without a high level of EMF radiation.

The Idealsauna provides a lot for its price, so we’d shortlist it, if we were you.

SereneLife Portable Infrared Home Spa Review

There is a myriad of portable infrared saunas on the market, but choosing to include this one as number five on my list was not difficult.

One of the main reasons for that is its amazingly low price, but you will not sacrifice a lot of the features.

All of the most important accessories that a portable infrared sauna needs to have are still there.

The SereneLife portable sauna receives probably the best reviews online; to understand why, let’s learn more about it below.

Less than Average EMF Radiation

As this is one of the cheapest infrared saunas on the market, the EMF readings are not as low as with the first two devices on this list.

However, they are still much lower than the average, which is incredible, considering that its price is also much lower than average.

Similar to the Radiant Saunas, the SereneLife produces infrared heat via three carbon panels; as a bonus, they keep the electricity consumption low.

Efficient Cabin Size

The SereneLife sauna cabin size is smaller than what you’ll get with many other saunas.

However, this means that it packs small, and is quite lightweight.

Therefore, if you plan to travel with it, this is a perfect choice.

Several Accessories

SereneLife offers all the standard accessories that you’d expect to get with a portable infrared sauna.

It comes with a comfortable folding chair, and a heating footpad that should keep you warm and comfortable.

More importantly, you’ll also get a remote controller, which allows you to adjust both the timer (up to 60 minutes per session) and the heat (up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit).

Quick Setup

Setting up SereneLife is extremely easy.

You can set it up or fold it down in seconds.

If you want to learn more, you can find some useful video tutorials online.

Cheap!

The low price tag is probably SereneLife’s biggest selling point.

However, you still get lots of value for your money, as you can see from the features listed above.

Positive User Reviews

Customers who use this device regularly have only positive words about it.

Everyone is satisfied with the quality of both the chair and the sauna itself.

It provides all of the benefits you get from much more expensive saunas, but at a lower price.

Pros and Cons

SereneLife does have some disadvantages, but they are minor, compared with the advantages.

Pros:

  • Fast setup
  • Saves energy
  • Lightweight and small
  • Comes with a remote controller
  • Very low cost

Cons:

  • Bigger individuals could feel cramped in it
  • Emits some (yet a low amount of) EMF radiation

Conclusion

If you are smaller, and you’re not planning to use this sauna to lose weight, it is probably a good choice.

You can buy it for weight loss, but keep in mind that if you do, you may feel a bit cramped.

All in all, it is one of the cheapest units on the market, and even though it emits some EMF radiation, it takes countermeasures to alleviate the harmful effects thereof.

FIR-Real Low EMF Portable Infrared Sauna

While this is not the most popular or the best infrared portable sauna you can get, it still offers a very good bang for your buck.

It’s a high-quality unit, made of durable and resistant materials that will last you a long time.

It does not have the lowest EMF readings ever, but they are not alarmingly high, either.

This unit is doing a good job at keeping its EMF radiation as low as possible.

Apart from that, it has some other features as well, which we will discuss further below.

Normal EMF Levels

The FIR-Real sauna produces minimal EMF.

In this price range, it’s one of the best options, if you want to keep electromagnetic pollution to a minimum.

It uses four low EMF infrared heaters; these are considered to be some of the best of their kind on the market.

They emit between 4 and 14 µm of infrared heat, which is the best range you can get.

Slightly Larger Size

Compared to other infrared saunas in the same price range, the FIR-Real sauna has slightly larger dimensions.

This model is perfect for you, in case you are claustrophobic, taller, or weigh more.

You won’t feel constrained, and you’ll have plenty of room to sit comfortably for the duration of your session.

Standard Accessories

Of course, like all other portable saunas, the FIR-Real comes with a remote controller with which you can control the heat and the length of your session.

It also includes a folding chair on which you can comfortably sit, even if you are heavier.

You can also use a removable footpad (14 x 12 in.) which both emits FIR radiation and keeps your feet warm.

Five Temperature Settings

The FIR-Real portable sauna generates temperatures ranging from 104 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit, which is the perfect range in which to promote blood, and activate lymph, circulation.

You can control the heat by choosing one of the five preset temperature settings, and enjoy the most comfortable one for yourself.

Anti-Odor and Antimicrobial Properties

This portable sauna uses high-quality materials with antimicrobial properties, which means you can use it safely for years.

Its construction prevents bacteria from surviving on the walls, which also stops any odors from arising.

You should clean it regularly, which typically means just lightly wiping it with a clean cloth.

Let’s discuss some of the highlights and the possible points of improvement of the FIR-Real Sauna.

Pros:

  • Four low EMF carbon heating panels
  • Large size
  • Antimicrobial materials used in the construction
  • Great accessories
  • Provides the perfect heat range

Cons:

  • More expensive than the average FIR sauna
  • It’s somewhat heavier

Conclusion

All things considered, we love the FIR-Real Infrared Sauna.

Some characteristics could be better, but overall it’s a great choice for the money.

It has all of the features that you’ll need to get the maximum health benefits from your infrared therapy, and uses high-quality materials.

We say you should definitely seriously consider it.

Low EMF Portable Infrared Saunas Buyers Guide

Now that we’ve described for you the six best low EMF portable infrared saunas that you can buy, let’s explain more about what we considered when we were composing our list.

What you’ll be reading below is everything that I think is important to know before choosing your infrared sauna.

Let’s start by learning what a portable infrared sauna actually is.

What Is a Portable Infrared Sauna?

A portable infrared sauna is very similar to a traditional sauna.

It is a container or a room that’s used to increase your body’s temperature, and to provide numerous health benefits.

Some of these include:

  • Stress relief
  • Muscle relaxation
  • Strengthened immune system
  • Weight loss
  • Improved sleep
  • Pain relief
  • Detoxification

If we want to define accurately what a portable infrared sauna is, we should compare it to a traditional sauna, with which most people are familiar.

When consider both of them side by side, we can distinguish two main differences between the traditional and the infrared sauna – the FIR sauna is portable, and it uses infrared heat.

Traditional saunas are, by contrast, bulky, and fixed in one place.

They take up a lot of space in your home, and if there’s no room to fit one, you may need to travel hours to a destination.

On the other hand, portable saunas are small, pack light (40-50 lbs.), and can be carried around easily.

They have a very small footprint, so they require little room to set up.

You can use it almost anywhere, whether that be in your bedroom, your living room, or anywhere else in your house.

Typically, they are just large enough for one person to sit inside on a folding chair.

Thus, you can carry yours with you without any problems, even when you travel.

The second difference has to do with how saunas heat up your body.

Traditional saunas use hot steam to increase the temperature of the air around you, and in that way that of your body.

On the other hand, portable infrared saunas emit far infrared radiation (FIR), which increases the body’s temperature using infrared light.

This method is much faster and more efficient than the traditional one, and provides a lot more health benefits, compared to steam saunas.

What to Consider

To find the best possible infrared sauna for your needs, you need to know what is important to look for.

Portable saunas come in different shapes and sizes, and with numerous features, some of which may be redundant.

When choosing an FIR sauna, you need to pay attention to the most important points, which are the same ones on which I’ve focused when reviewing my choices for the six best saunas.

I believe that the level of EMF radiation produced is the most important aspect on which we should focus, so I’ve listed it first in each of my reviews.

Keep reading to learn about the other important considerations, as well.

EMF Radiation

Since portable infrared saunas use electricity to produce infrared heat, they emit some EMF radiation, as well.

It’s important for the levels of this radiation to be as low as possible.

The ideal reading should be below 3 mG, but anything lower than 15 mG is acceptable.

Accessories

Portable saunas come with a variety of accessories, some of which are more important than others.

The most important accessories that every sauna needs to have are a footpad and a folding chair.

A remote controller is a plus that you should be looking for as well, but it’s not crucial.

Features

The sauna’s features are the next most important factor.

Again, some saunas offer numerous options that you won’t need most of the time, which will raise the price unnecessarily.

Some of the most important features are multiple heat settings, different timing options, double zippers, carbon heat panels, and so on.

Price

You can get portable saunas for very cheap, but some of them are also very expensive.

You need to look for the absolute best value for your money.

More expensive does not always mean that you will get more or better accessories.

Therefore, be careful not to pay through the nose when buying one.

Cabin Size

Portable infrared saunas are not big, which can be simultaneously a good and a bad thing.

Since you will usually spend around an hour in your infrared sauna, you need to make sure that it fits you well.

This is especially important if you are a tall person, or if you are buying a portable sauna to help you lose weight.

You do not want to feel cramped inside it.

Ease of Assembly

One of the main reasons you’re buying a portable sauna is because it’s quick and easy to use.

Therefore, try to find a model that needs little time and effort to assemble.

Temperature Range

For your infrared therapy to be effective, the sauna needs to reach an optimal temperature.

Most saunas on the market reach temperatures of up to 150 degrees Fahrenheit, which is enough to receive all of the health benefits associated with this therapy.

Warranty

If your portable sauna is backed by a manufacturer warranty, it means that it is built well and uses high-quality materials.

Therefore, make sure that your product has a reasonable warranty, so you may easily take care of any problems in the future.

What is Infrared Light?

Infrared light is a type of invisible light, similar to ultraviolet light.

However, infrared light is located on the opposite end of the spectrum.

Even though we cannot see it, we can feel that it exists. Infrared light will warm up any object that can absorb its heat.

When we’re using a portable infrared sauna, the infrared light heats our body, but not the air around us, since air cannot absorb its radiation.

The most common source of infrared light in nature is the sun.

We cannot see the rays, but we can feel their warmth.

Compared to other sources of heat, infrared light is a lot more efficient.

It takes less time to raise the body to the desired temperature, and it uses much less electricity.

To understand fully what infrared light is, we should explain more about its two types: Near, and far, infrared light.

Near and Far Infrared Light: Are They the Same?

The words near and far, in this case, have a literal meaning.

Near infrared light is located closer to the visible range on the light spectrum, while far infrared light is located farther from the visible range.

These two types of light are very similar, but there are some important differences.

Near infrared light is emitted by the sun, and it has many positive effects on the body.

It can quickly raise your body temperature, improve blood flow, relieve stiffness and pain, and give you better skin.

Far infrared light is much more commonly seen in portable infrared saunas.

It is also much more common in devices such as low EMF heating pads.

Far infrared rays are used more than near infrared rays in these devices, because they offer more variation.

They are great at detoxification, increasing positive feelings, supporting weight loss, and a lot more.

Which is Better: An Infrared Sauna or a Steam Sauna?

If you ask an expert, most of them will tell you that an infrared sauna is much better than a steam sauna.

First, a portable infrared sauna is extremely easy to use.

You can set it up in your bedroom or your living room, and sit in it while reading a book, watching TV, or talking to your family.

Doing this with a steam sauna would be difficult.

Next, setting up a steam sauna in your house costs a lot of money.

An alternative would be to frequent a wellness and spa center, which would also be expensive over a short period.

On the other hand, you can buy a portable infrared sauna cheaply, and it is a one-time investment.

It costs one-tenth of what a steam sauna would cost you.

Infrared saunas also use a lot less power.

They usually generate heat via carbon panels, which are extremely energy-efficient.

An electricity-powered steam sauna would rack up much higher electricity bills.

Finally, the humidity in steam saunas can sometimes be a disadvantage.

If the steam regularly escapes the sauna, mold can appear in the part of the house where you’re using it.

Moreover, a lot of steam makes it difficult for some people to breathe, or makes them feel claustrophobic.

Steam saunas do have some health benefits, but an infrared sauna is a much better investment, overall.

The Negative Health Effects of EMF Radiation

EMF stands for electromagnetic fields.

They are produced by all the electronic devices around us, and impact our body in numerous negative ways.

People react differently to electromagnetic stimulation, but most will develop certain symptoms.

If you are affected by electromagnetic fields, it means that you are suffering from EHS, which stands for electromagnetic hypersensitivity.

This health issue causes numerous symptoms, but the most common are:

  • Fatigue. This is one of the most prevalent symptoms. If you feel fatigued even after you’ve had a full night’s sleep, or if your fatigue persists for a long period or throughout the day, it probably means you are affected by EHS.
  • Tinnitus.  This issue is usually known as ringing in the ears, and it happens in severe EHS cases. However, it does not always appear as a ringing sound; you can also perceive it as clicking, hissing, roaring, or some other sound.
  • Poor Sleep. Struggling with bad sleep is another frequent symptom of EHS. That’s because we often sleep with a smartphone next to our head, have a TV in our bedroom, sleep on a spring mattress that acts as an antenna for EMF radiation, and have other bad habits.
  • Heart Palpitations and Chest Pain. This symptom also happens in people who have a severe case of EHS. The symptoms are very similar to angina. Patients can also experience a racing heartbeat, or fluttering sensations in their chest.
  • Brain Fog. Have you recently been feeling that your memory is worsening? You might be suffering from EHS. What may happen in this memory loss can include forgetting everyday words or the names of close people, having trouble recalling places and events, and so on. Some scientists even believe that EMF radiation has a significant influence on the development of Alzheimer’s disease; if true, this would explain the rise in the number of individuals suffering from this condition.
  • Skin Issues. This is another symptom that the majority of those affected by EHS develop. These skin problems can include tingling, redness, or a rash. They usually affect the upper arms and the face, but can appear in other parts of the body, as well.

How Can I Prevent Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity?

Since we live in a time when technology is omnipresent, it’s difficult to eliminate electromagnetic fields; however, there are some simple things that we can do to reduce our chances of developing EHS.

The most important ones include:

  • Keeping your smartphone far from your bed.
  • Turning your Wi-Fi on only when you’re using it.
  • Using incandescent light bulbs instead of CFL bulbs.
  • Doing whatever you can to eliminate the sources of EMF radiation in your home.
  • A few hours before sleep, avoiding looking at screens that produce blue light.

By taking these simple steps, you can also confirm whether you’re suffering from EHS.

If the symptoms we mentioned above decrease, it means you should take additional steps to alleviate completely your problem.

Portable Infrared Saunas and EMF

It’s important to know that portable infrared saunas also produce electromagnetic fields, due to the fact that they run on electricity.

Therefore, before choosing which one to buy, it’s important to learn just how much EMF radiation the one you want is producing.

Unfortunately, there are no infrared saunas that produce zero EMF radiation.

However, some of them produce less than others.

The safest levels for which you should aim are up to 3 mG (milligauss).

However, not many saunas fall in this group, and the ones that do are usually expensive. Any readings of up to 10-13 mG are deemed safe, so if you find a device that produces this amount of EMF radiation, you don’t have to worry about it.

Avoid any that give off more than that.

Are There Any Risks Associated with Portable Infrared Saunas?

Overall, using infrared saunas is very safe.

There are no risks of burns, or any serious side effects.

However, people react differently to this type of therapy, so it is best to talk to your doctor before starting it.

The reason for this is certain genetic predispositions that may cause a person to experience overheating, or other health problems.

Another important consideration is that saunas impact our body significantly.

Therefore, it is best to start slowly, with low temperatures, and increase both exposure time and temperature as your body gets used to the heat.

Otherwise, you will feel uncomfortable, and possibly even experience some side effects.

It is not advisable to use a sauna for a long period.

Most people stay in an infrared sauna for anywhere between 30 minutes and one hour.

This duration is considered to be optimal, to achieve most of the associated health benefits.

Finally, and most importantly, you must remember to stay hydrated, and replace the electrolytes you lose.

One of the effects you may experience in the sauna is sweating, which means that you will be perspiring a lot of water with each session.

Try to drink more water than you usually do to make up for the lost fluids.

Most-Significant Health Benefits of Infrared Saunas

Portable infrared saunas have countless health benefits for our body.

Read the section below to find out about the most common ones.

Detoxification

Infrared saunas allow our body to eliminate any toxins it has collected.

These saunas increase our body temperature, and we sweat a lot in the process.

Perspiring in an infrared sauna can reduce our levels of heavy metals, such as mercury, nickel, copper, zinc, and more.

Stress Relief

When using a portable infrared sauna, you can zone out and relax fully.

It shouldn’t be stressful; these saunas are known to cause feelings of relaxation.

They are easy to set up, and while using them, you can watch TV, listen to music, or read a book.

Make it a time just for yourself.

Relaxes Muscles and Joints

Infrared saunas have been documented to cause significant easing in muscles and joints.

If you are suffering from an acute or chronic muscle or joint injury, an infrared sauna will most probably be able to help.

It soothes the pain, improves circulation, and warms up the affected area of the body, which all helps your joints and muscles feel better.

Strengthens the Immune System

Infrared saunas have been associated, through numerous studies, with the improved function of the immune system.

Regularly using an infrared sauna means that you will have much-reduced chances of contracting diseases such as the flu and colds.

This happens because the heat produced by infrared saunas boosts the production of white blood cells, which are responsible for fighting infectious microbes.

Improved Sleep

Scientists have long argued that a warm bath or a shower before bed will significantly improve the quality of your sleep.

The same is true for a portable infrared sauna treatment.

However, it is important not to expose yourself to a hot bath or infrared heat right before sleep.

You need to give your body time to cool down and prepare, so it’s best to use a sauna at least a couple of hours before your usual bedtime.

Conclusion

All in all, a portable infrared sauna is a device I would recommend to anyone who is feeling stressed out by hectic modern life.

It offers numerous health benefits, and very low risk of side effects.

Portable infrared saunas are extremely easy to set up, and take up very little space inside your house.

Make sure to follow our advice when buying one, and to get one with low EMF radiation emissions.

This will ensure that you receive most of the health benefits associated with this therapy.
